Integrative Massage is an approach to massage therapy that incorporates a combination of many massage therapy techniques (Swedish, neuromuscular, energy work, full body connection). This massage experience is for those who want to work not only on the physical and physiological body, but also the mind, emotions, spirit, energy system, and beyond. Integrative massage is a creative expression of bodywork turning the session into an art form.

Neuromuscular Therapy Techniques and Deep Tissue Massage use a variety of approaches such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy, postural assessment, range of motion testing, lymph drainage, and muscle energy techniques. This type of massage can help immensely with acute, subacute, and chronic injuries, postural ailments and misalignments, build up of stress, and overuse patterns. This work can be combined with other types of massage or it can be focused and localized to one specific area based on the client’s needs and desires.

Prenatal/Postpartum Massage can be instrumental in having a healthy, nurturing pregnancy and smooth transition into postpartum life and motherhood. This type of massage can provide relaxation, ease muscle pains and tension, help with adapting to a new body and a new life, provide an opportunity for emotional release, help with internal support of organs and physiological systems, and can relax the baby and contribute to an easier labor and recovery time.

Therapeutic Swedish Massage is a type of massage that involves a variety of strokes and depths of pressure (effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, friction, vibration, and rocking). It can be helpful to relieve stress, decrease muscle tension, and increase blood circulation. This is often the type of massage that first enters a person’s mind when they think of getting a relaxing, soothing massage. It is a fundamental building block for other types of massage therapy.

    Client Testimonial

"I have been receiving massages from Alana Monge for a few years now. I originally came to Alana with chronic low back muscle tightness and pain. When I walked into her therapy room I immediately knew I would be well taken care of. Alana first asked me about my areas of concern and whether I like the heating pad on, what kind of scent I like to smell and the type of music I like. I don’t know how she does it, but she has the amazing ability to zoom into the exact areas of tightness and with her deep tissue therapeutic skills she instantly begins to alleviate the problems. After my first massage, my back was much better and I was hooked on Alana as my new massage therapist. Since then, being an active athlete, I have come to her with sore shoulders, forearms and neck and the results have been similar. When the massage is over she discusses follow up and exercises and stretches that can be helpful in keeping my body healthy. In summary, Alana is an awesome therapist, thoughtful, caring and very nurturing in her practice. She is also a very pleasant person which of course helps in the entire therapeutic process.
